The need for exposure...

I'm not sure that there is real forgiveness without exposure. The need to cover up our sin is as instinctual as Adam hiding in Eden after the fall.

There is honesty in exposure.

I makes us acknowledge things as they really are without the usual stories we tell ourselves.

There is something about the painful moment of honesty that allows healing to begin. Forgiveness which hovered right out of reach seeps in.

There is no forgiveness without confession.

And in the end, honesty is a small price to pay for freedom.
