A practice I've found helpful recently was introduced to me in Rod Stryker's book,
The Four Desires
. In one of the meditation exercises, Rod coaches you to start where you are, then rewind your day in 30 minute increments. So, imagine what you were doing 30 minutes before now...then 30 minutes before that...then...
Much like the Daily Examine by Jesuit, Ignatius Loyola, I've found "rewinding my day" a beautiful practice before going to bed.
I find I have a lot to be thankful for.
