What are we co-creating?

One of the things about going through the The Four Desires Book is that it makes you think about what you really want.

The idea is that our desires--both conscious and unconscious--drive our actions. And while there are many things that happen to us outside of our control, there is also the influence of the things in our lives that we are creating. And the idea is that what we are creating is the very thing that deep down inside we really want.

Like the person who says they want a family, but is living alone because the thing they want more is to be 'safe.'
Or the person who says they want to move, but stays in the same place because the thing they want more is approval.
Or the person who says they want to pursue their art, but isn't painting at all because the thing they want more is the illusion of undiscovered talent.
Or the person who says they want peace, but lives in chaos because the thing they really want is to 'save the day.'

If we aren't happy with where we are at, it is worth looking at what it is that we may want deeper than the desire we express. The thing that might be creating the circumstances we are living in.  Our desires can work both for and against us.  It is worth being honest with ourselves so that we can figure it out.
