How we view our experience

When Nancy-the-Insightful and I used to work together she would often quote Erwin McManus whenever an experience didn't match our expectations.

"You have everything at your fingertips to have exactly the experience that God wants you to have." 

We often get frustrated when something doesn't measure up to what we think it should be or we waste energy trying to make something fit our form. And yet...

What if we are wrong?

What if it is exactly the way it is supposed to be?

What if the goal isn't for us to have the experience that we expected but rather for us to have the adventure that is being offered to us?

We can miss joy trying to fit square pegs into round holes.  Sometimes, we just need to enjoy the squareness of it all.
