As a little girl reading Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series, I got to the last chapter of the last book and stopped.
I couldn't bear for the story to be over.
And so somehow, in my little girl heart, I decided that if I never read the last chapter, it wouldn't be over.
I find I do that as a grown up too. If a book is particularly connecting with me, I stop in parts.
I let my heart absorb.
While much of my life moves quickly as I move from thing to thing, some things are just better savored.
